Our story

On May 31, 2026, we brought the Floasis experience to Long Beach, California, where we now proudly reside. Since then, we’ve been bringing our signature poetry experience to the beach, creating spaces where art, culture, music, and community meet.

let's take it back...

Floasis Spoken Word Poetry, LLC is a poetry venue and creative brand born in the heart of Downtown Riverside, California. Established on March 17, 2011, Floasis began at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on Mission Inn Avenue. The road to growth wasn’t easy, but through challenges and setbacks, Floasis remained committed to nurturing the spoken word movement and creating a space where poets could find their voice, share their stories, and connect with their audience. As the following grew, so did the need for a new creative home. In 2012, Darren, the owner of Back to the Grind, graciously opened his doors to Floasis. The coffee shop’s basement became the heartbeat of the movement, serving as Floasis’ home for nearly eight years, through March 2020. Then the world changed. When the COVID-19 pandemic brought live events to a halt, Floasis refused to let the silence stop the poetry. We took the movement online, launching virtual shows that allowed us to continue connecting artists and audiences while expanding our reach far beyond Riverside.

For more than a year, Floasis produced virtual events and built a growing worldwide following, proving that poetry could transcend walls, cities, and even borders. What began as a small gathering in a coffee shop had grown into something much bigger, a creative platform, a community, and a movement powered by the timeless connection between poetry, people, and purpose. As the pandemic came to an end in late 2021 and early 2022, Floasis found a new home at the historic Life Arts Center in Riverside, California. Nearly every month, poetry lovers from near and far gathered to have their souls fed in this one-of-a-kind creative space.

Known for our unique themes, feel-good music, positive energy, and unforgettable party atmosphere, Floasis has always been more than a poetry show; it’s a poetry experience. Founded to give local, talented, and up-and-coming artists a voice and a platform to showcase their passion, Floasis has become a poetic paradise for the floetically passionate. It is a place where words become connection, creativity becomes community, and artists are encouraged to boldly share their stories.

On May 31, 2026, we brought the Floasis experience to Long Beach, California, where we now proudly reside. Since then, we’ve been bringing our signature poetry experience to the beach, creating spaces where art, culture, music, and community meet. With more than 16 years in the game and a growing presence in Long Beach, we continue to curate unforgettable events, build the Floasis brand, provide platforms for emerging artists, and impact lives one experience at a time.

OUR MISSION:

As passionate artists, we use our art to pour into others and shape culture. We are a voice for the voiceless, a safe space for stories untold, and a platform where truth finds its rhythm. Through spoken word and creative expression, we cultivate connection, inspire courage, and give power to vulnerability. We believe art can heal, unite, awaken, and transform communities.
